INGREDIENTS
Founders, Shannon and Simona formulate all RAWKANVAS products in
conjunction with our laboratory team drawing on their knowledge of naturopathy, aromatherapy, biochemistry.
RAWKANVAS products are free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, petrochemicals, GMOs, sulfates, synthetic preservatives, pthlalates, sodium laurel sulfate, mineral oils, triclosan, formaldehyde, toluene and propylene glycol.
All our products are checked prior to being packaged and again before dispatch to ensure we are providing the best quality products for our customers.
Moisture, warmth, and food are all necessary for mould to grow and mould spores (which circulate in the air) must come in contact with moisture and mould will start to grow within 24 to 48 hours. We use preservatives to prevent microorganisms from contaminating and growing within the products.
We use natural preservatives to keep our products in their freshest and most active form. While synthetic preservatives are great at killing bacteria and have a very long shelf life (possibly years), they tend to be petroleum based and can be irritants. Natural preservatives on the other hand work a little different, instead of killing the bacteria they prevent them by creating an environment for them not to grow in, which means natural products have a shorter shelf life. Since natural preservatives don’t have the same bacteria-killing ability, products need to be treated depending on the environment they’re in.
However, we do recommend that once a product is opened that it’s used within 6 months and stored in a cool, dry place. If a lid/pump isn’t tight (for example), moisture from the air can penetrate in and contamination can occur. The bacteria tend to multiply and is noticeable shortly after contamination occurs (24 to 48 hours). It’s ideal to have products in a cool, low humidity dry storage area, or even in the refrigerator and we recommend washing and drying hands thoroughly before use.
If you live in a humid, moist or hot environment, try and keep your products in the fridge to extend their shelf life and to ensure moisture doesn't get in and cause bacteria to become present.
With any product housed in a jar, please ensure you utilise freshly washed hands when using the product so as to not introduce bacteria in to the product. Please also ensure that you tighten the lid on the jar to avoid moisture getting in to the jar.
Exposure to sunlight can also cause colours and scents to fade, bleaching the pigment out of bright and vivid natural colour and evaporating the scent.
We recommend a shelf life of 18 months if unopened and that products are used within 6 months of opening so as to ensure the highest quality. We use natural preservatives to keep our products in their freshest and most active form.
Store products away from direct sunlight, below 30 degrees and away from humidity/moisture, they will stay last longer.
RAWKANVAS skincare is crafted with a combination of natural and vegan ingredients to provide
nourishment for beautifully natural skin, with all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients naturally present.
The ingredients in our RAWKANVAS skincare products are sourced from within Australia, New Zealand and from around the world.
Palm oil can go by over 300 names, but those ingredients may not necessarily be derived from palm oil either.
For example glycerin can be from palm oil, but we source it from flaxseed, Alkyl Polyglucoside which we derive from coconuts or Glyceryl Stearate Citrate which we source from corn. Palm oil is an incredibly high yielding crop, it produces nine times more oil per hectare than the next best oil crop so it needs less land to grow the same amount of oil. The coconut, a common palm replacement for example yields only half the oil of palm meaning that we will need double the land.
We prefer to err on the side of caution so we choose not to make a claim we cannot stand behind. While our products do not contain palm oil they may contain palm oil derivatives. However we purchase our ingredients from a supplier which sources their ingredients directly from the largest processor and supplier of fats and oils to Australia and New Zealand who is a member in the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil- a not-for-profit global association formally established under Article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code. Any palm oil derivatives are sourced from well-established plantations on mainland Malaysia, many of which have been converted from existing rubber plantations over two decades ago meaning rainforest wasn't destroyed to make way for these palm oil plantations. There are NO contracts with plantations in Borneo or Sumatra for the supply of Palm Oil. As such, there are no implications of present or planned rainforest destruction in these areas.
RAWKANVAS creates skincare by blending ingredients to deliver skin food for a naturally beautiful you. We source organic ingredients where possible, to formulate RAWKANVAS products. These ingredients are important to us for the efficacy of our products. Where there is no organic product at the quality we require, we utilise a non-organic ingredient.

RAWKANVAS believes in crafting skincare products in boutique batches. The products you are buying are handmade. We guarantee what goes in in to the product and importantly what we don’t include.

don’t support testing on animals, rather we test on real people.
RAWKANVAS refrains from using any animal derivatives in our high-end skincare products. As a cruelty free brand committed to creating products that are free from all animal testing, we are dedicated to cruelty free practices. We don't sell our products in markets that require animal testing and purchase ingredients from suppliers that don't test on animals.
We test on real people, including ourselves, not animals. We love animals! And we know that you do, too.

We recommend keeping your RAWKANVAS products in a cool place away from direct sunlight. However, if you live in warmer tropical temperatures, or your home gets very warm, we suggest you keep your RAWKANVAS products in the fridge. This won’t impact on the effectiveness of your products, but it may change their consistency as products may solidify. This will extend their shelf life and to ensure moisture doesn't get in and cause bacteria to become present.

from batch to batch.
Partnered with a team of professional chemists, our products are handmade using natural ingredients so they do tend to have variations in colour, texture and scent from batch to batch, however such differences, like beauty, are celebrated!
This is because no two production batches are identical, they tend to have variations due to the nature of natural ingredients, much like every person is different in appearance, so are natural ingredients, including slight changes in colour, intensity of essential oil and texture, depending on when they were harvested. Synthetic ingredients are manufactured in a laboratory to be chemically identical with every batch, whereas natural ingredients from nature can vary. Such differences have no impact on the efficacy of the product.

producing small batches.
RAWKANVAS products contain ingredients that can be utilised with retinol products. However, if you have sensitive skin please utilise the Canvas: Resurfacing AHA & BHA Treatment on separate days to the retinol.

Absolutely. By following the directions for use on our packaging all RAWKANVAS products and treatments
except for The Foundation: Flawless Retinol & Vitamin C Lotion are safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

RAWKANVAS is not liable for any individual reaction to any particular ingredient. Please remember to read our labels and ingredient lists carefully and follow the appropriate directions for use. If you have a specific allergy or sensitivity, do not use ingredients that may trigger a reaction. An allergy patch test is recommended if there is any doubt or history of skin reactions. Discontinue use if a reaction occurs.
We recommend that you use your RAWKANVAS products within 6 months of opening to keep them at their
freshest and highest quality for the best results.
Unopened, RAWKANVAS products have a shelf life of 18 months.

RAWKANVAS products are packaged in glass sourced from an Australian supplier, reducing the impact of the product on the
environment. Our packaging is a major talking point: sleek and minimalist, the exquisite product contained
within shines through the clear glass. In line with the RAWKANVAS’ commitment to the environment, our
packaging is recyclable. We encourage reuse of the glass packaging.

too pretty to toss into the recycling bin, or send back to us for recycling as part of the RAWCYCLE, you can upcycle it. Once you've used
up your lush RAWKANVAS product, clean your bottle, or jar. Leave it to air dry outside in the sun and then use it
as a:
• Vase: We have bottle sizes that can be used as small vases. The 100mL rectangular bottles
(cleansing gel and toner) will hold a small bouquet of flowers, while the 50mL round bottles
(facial oil, probiotic lotion and retinol lotion) are perfect for small arrangements of delicate
flowers of a single stem.
• Candle holder: Our 100mL rectangular bottles (cleansing gel and toner) can hold
slimline candles, or you can make your own smaller candles and use the 50mL jar (day
moisturiser, night mousse, clay mask, AHA & BHA treatment, brightening mask, exfoliant) as a vessel. Whether you choose white, or colour, the clear glass provides a
remarkable contrast.
• Storage for herbs & spices: The 100mL rectangular bottles (cleansing gel and toner) and
50mL round bottles (facial oil, probiotic lotion and retinol lotion) are great for use in the
kitchen to store your herbs and spices. Just don’t forget to wash the bottle or jar with soap
and let dry.
• Incense holder: The 100mL rectangular bottles (cleansing gel and toner) and 50mL
round bottles (facial oil, probiotic lotion and retinol lotion) link are perfect for holding your
favourite scented incense sticks. Stand the bottle on a glass dish to catch the ash.
In line with the our RAWKANVAS commitment to the environment, we ship orders using minimal packaging with all important information provided via email or on our website. We utilise a cardboard shipping box and biodegradable/compostable packaging peanuts made from starch that disintegrate when they come in to contact with water, which is safe to go down the drain, in your yard, or in the bin!
Because the products go via air or are constantly pushed down, they sometimes get air pressure stuck in the nozzle, or there may be some solidified sediment from the product stuck in the nozzle that needs to be dislodged.
To dislodge the build up of air pressure/or dislodge the sediment, pop the entire serum pump/atomiser out, use the cream on the end so you don’t waste it and then put the the open end of the tube in a bowl of water, pump a few times so the water runs through and that will dislodge the built up air pressure/sediment.
Give the serum pump/atomiser a few shakes to dislodge the water before putting it back in the product.

International

During busy sale periods orders may require additional days to be processed before they are shipped. Orders placed on a weekend or a public holiday will be processed the next business day.
