A skincare routine for your kanvas

Ever go to get into bed at night and realise you haven’t brushed your teeth and you get that feeling you won’t be able to sleep until you do? This is a feeling that comes from creating a habit. Habits are formed from routines. Some routines are instilled in us from childhood and others we have developed over time ourselves.

Healthy routines come from a place of discipline and desire for self-care. These types of routines are essential to our health and wellbeing. They bring structure, balance and a sense of self love into our everyday life.

As children we are set into a routine to give us a sense of ease, happiness and stability. Routines help create important habits from brushing our teeth to exercising and a balanced diet. Skincare routines are no different.

We have created a simple skincare routine for you using RAWKANVAS products. 


1. Cleanser

Using a cleanser in the morning removes the build-up of oil that accumulates in throughout the night. In the morning and in the evening, cleansing removes the make up, build up of excess oil and daily dirt that accumulates from living a busy life.

To cleanse your face simply use 1 to 2 pumps of cleanser and apply to directly on to your wet face in circular motions. For a refreshing gentle cleanse, I recommend Purified: Purifying Cleanser, a cleanser packed with green tea, it purifies and deeply cleanses to remove daily dirt, keeping your pores fresh and clean. 

Want to add more to your routine? Use an exfoliator once or twice a week after cleansing to remove the build up of dead skin cells before using a toner. I use Polished: Refining Exfoliant, a dry rice exfoliator that I mix with the cleanser and exfoliate using circular motions. 


2. Toner

The ultimate post-cleanse step involves a toner which leaves your skin feeling light and refreshed, like that feeling you get following a facial, only with a quarter of the price tag. A toner works to restore balance to your skin, keep it hydrated throughout the and boost radiance. I wait for a minute, before applying moisturiser.

For an exfoliating and hydrating, alcohol-free toner, I recommend Harmony: Radiance Boosting Toner. Packed with skin surfacing ingredients, fruit AHA's work harmoniously to dissolve dead skin cellss, white willow bark unclogs congested pores by banishing impurities and excess oil and hyaluronic acid keeps your skin well hydrated.

3. Moisturiser

Moisturisers increase skin hydration, assisting your skin to look and feel dewy, promotes youthful skin, boosts radiance, soothe and revitalise skin. Post toning, your face should be feeling clean and fresh, apply 1 pump of moisturiser, a pea sized amount, and massage into your skin until absorbed.
